BREAKING NEWS: PM Reveals Prison is Ready for Sam Rainsy

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has revealed that the Royal Government of Cambodia has already prepared a special prison for Sam Rainsy if he ever travels back to Cambodia. The Prime Minister also urged him to come to Cambodia as soon as possible.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony for students of the National University of Management on Monday morning, 17 October, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that he has not prohibited Sam Rainsy from entering the country and that any plane can carry him back to Cambodia, but the only thing that will greet Sam Rainsy when he arrives at the airport will be handcuffs.

"You are not free! And do not expect Hun Sen to sign a pardon for you!" said the Prime Minister. "Anyone who wants to transport you can bring [you here] without any problem, but I want to confirm that when you arrive, you will be handcuffed and put in prison. I do not say which prison, because it is already prepared, there is no difficulty."

Sam Rainsy is currently facing a number of lawsuits, some of which have already been through the court process. On 9 November 2019, Sam Rainsy had announced his return to Cambodia, but he ended up only going to Indonesia.
